The Hygieia Fountain is located in the centre of the inner courtyard of Hamburg City Hall. Joseph von Kramer, a sculptor from Munich, completed it in 1896. The fountain is a cultural monument and was built in memory of the cholera pandemic. Hygieia is the Greek goddess of health and purity.
