Kino im Künstlerhaus or municipal cinema. Both names refer to the same cinema. King George V of Hanover laid the foundation stone for the building in 1853. At first it served as a "museum for art and science". Over the years, the building was repeatedly converted and extended. Nevertheless, the original appearance was largely preserved. The last conversion made the versatile use of the building possible: films, literature and art have found a place here. With the adjacent Schauspielhaus, overlapping projects and events are realised again and again.
