The Gedenkstätten Museum in the "Runde Ecke" is the former headquarters of the District Administration for State Security. In the permanent exhibition "STASI - Power and Banalities", the workings of the former GDR secret service are realistically exhibited. Visitors are shown how the GDR used to rob its citizens of their basic democratic rights. The exhibition also draws attention to how significant the achievements of the peaceful revolution remain today.
