The Doktorsburg, also called "Haus Büchel" or "Oberbüchel" was formerly a moated castle. The building is named after the academic degree of Dr. Jakob von Omphal, who acquired it in 1540. Today, the pretty building serves as a senior citizens' meeting place for the city of Leverkusen. A highlight in the beautiful flower garden are the steel Mikado sticks, also called twitching lightning bolts. If you would like to visit the Doktorsburg, you can ideally park in our nearby Forum and Luminaden underground garages.
