The Museum Abtei, opened in 1982, is a museum for modern and contemporary art. The museum was designed by the Viennese architect Hans Hollein. It was the first museum for contemporary art and a manifesto of postmodernism. It is located one minute from the Alter Markt and next to Gladbach Minster.
