The castle church "Capella Castri Sarapontensis" in Saarbrücken was probably built during the 11th century and belonged to the castle at that time. It provided a space for prayers and rest here. The late Gothic castle church bears the signature of the architect Stengel, who was responsible for the design of Saarbrücken Castle, including the castle square. The Saarbrücken Castle Church became the property of the "Stiftung Saarländischer Kulturbesitz" (Saarland Cultural Heritage Foundation) in 2001 and has served as a museum of sacred art of Christianity since 2004. Almost the entire furnishings of the church - except for the baptismal font - were removed for this purpose. Our car park Q-Park Am Schloss is within walking distance of the Schlosskirche and parking spaces can be conveniently booked and reserved online in advance.
