The castle wall of Saarbrücken Castle offers the best view over Saarbrücken. During the construction of the city motorway, several square metres of the old castle wall had to give way. This was moved by a whole 17 metres. The new castle wall is home to a historical asset - a stone head modelled on the "Stingy Baker". This baker was so greedy in the worst times of the city that he would not even give out dry bread without payment. When the Countess of Saarbrücken found out about this, she disguised herself as a poor woman and investigated this cold-hearted baker. To expose him, she had a stone head made that looked like the baker. As a water reservoir, he now let the town's sewage run into the Saar. Today, this stone head on the side of the staircase reminds us that avarice and greed are not welcome in Saarbrücken. Our car park Q-Park Am Schloss is only 400 metres away from the castle wall and parking spaces can be conveniently booked and reserved online in advance.
