Opened in 1906, Wiesbaden's main railway station, which was built entirely of red sandstone, is considered the city's transport hub. It was built in the style of a terminus station. The station is located on the southern edge of the city and has about 46,000 passengers per day. There are about 256 connections on the timetable there every day.
