The Wuppertal Opera House originally served as a municipal theatre in the Barmen district. Today it is the main venue of the Wuppertaler Bühnen and the Pina Bausch Dance Theatre. The entire building complex, which was partly rebuilt, extended and completely renovated after its destruction in the Second World War, is now a listed building.
